A Blessing for ArchCare Senior Life Center

Posted

Cardinal Dolan blessed and dedicated the ArchCare Senior Life St. Marks Adult Day Center, an adult day care center on Staten Island, during a visit Nov. 9. The center helps local seniors, many with intellectual and developmental disabilities, to live safely in the community. It can serve 55 seniors.

Established by ArchCare, the health care system of the archdiocese, the 4,700-square-foot center on St. Marks Place offers meals, activities, social programs and transportation and trips. It is an extension of ArchCare’s Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE), known as ArchCare Senior Life, which delivers all the medical, social and other services nursing home-eligible seniors need to live independently or with loved ones. Those enrolled in PACE are also transported to the program’s medical clinic at ArchCare at Carmel Richmond Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Dongan Hills for medical care, physical and occupational therapy and other services.
