‘Beneficial Partnership’

Posted

Thank you for noting the $1 million donation of the Ursuline Sisters to the Academy of Mount St. Ursula.

This donation would not have been possible without a mutually beneficial partnership between the Ursuline Sisters and the Fordham Bedford Housing Corporation.

In 2005, the Fordham Bedford Housing Corporation leased a portion of the Ursuline Bedford Park Convent property for the development of low and moderate income housing for seniors. Serviam Gardens and Towers opened in 2008.

In December 2015, the sisters sold the Ursuline Bedford Park Convent to the Fordham Bedford Housing Corporation for the development of additional housing for seniors. The completed project will be called Serviam Heights.

The proceeds from the Serviam Garden and Towers/and Serviam Heights are to be used for the support of the sisters and the ongoing mission of the Academy of Mount St Ursula.

Sister Kathleen Finnerty, O.S.U.

New Rochelle

Sister Kathleen is president of the Ursuline Bedford Park Convent Corporation.
