Biochemistry Major Introduced at St. Thomas Aquinas

St. Thomas Aquinas College in Sparkill has added a major in biochemistry. The biochemistry major focuses on the study of life from a molecular level, with a strong emphasis on chemistry and physics.

"Adding biochemistry to our other excellent majors, like biology and forensic science, gives our students yet another competitive advantage for the best jobs and graduate schools," said Dr. Robert Murray, dean of the School of Arts & Sciences.

Students majoring in biochemistry are prepared for a range of careers—from scientific medicine to agriculture, nutrition and the food industry, environmental sciences and the emerging area of biotechnology. Biochemistry majors will have the opportunity for laboratory experience using modern instruments and individualized research.
