Cardinal Dolan to Ordain 11 to Priesthood at Cathedral

Cardinal Dolan will ordain 11 men to the priesthood at a Mass in St. Patrick’s Cathedral on Saturday, May 25 at 9 a.m.

It is the highest number of priests that the cardinal has ordained since becoming Archbishop of New York in 2009.

The ordinandi are: Father Paschal Coby, C.F.R.; Father Felix Desilets, C.F.R.; Father Peter Heasley; Father Lorenzo Laboy; Father Luke Leighton, C.F.R.; Father Sandro Leyton; Father Jeffrey Pomeisl; Father Kenneth Riello; Father Bonaventure Rummell, C.F.R.; Father Esteban Sanchez; and Father Marek Wasilewski, M.Id.

Six priests—Father Heasley, Father Laboy, Father Leyton, Father Pomeisl, Father Riello and Father Sanchez—will be ordained to serve as priests of the archdiocese.

Four of the new priests—Father Coby, C.F.R.; Father Desilets, C.F.R.; Father Leighton, C.F.R.; and Father Rummell, C.F.R.—will serve as Franciscan Friars of the Renewal.

Father Wasilewski, M.Id., will serve with the Idente Missionaries of Christ the Redeemer.

The priests of the archdiocese, diocesan and religious, are invited to concelebrate the Mass of Ordination. All permanent deacons of the archdiocese are also invited to participate at the Mass.

Ten of the 11 ordinands are 2013 graduates of St. Joseph’s Seminary, Dunwoodie. Father Heasley is a 2013 graduate of the Pontifical North American College in Rome.
