‘Deep Trouble’

Posted

To the Editor:

Let me begin by saying that the choice of Cardinal Dolan to be the grand marshal of next year’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade by the Parade Committee was a great one. However, the choice to let a homosexual group along with its banner regardless of whether or not the homosexual group is somehow connected with a TV station, was not a good choice at all.

Over the months leading up to St. Patrick’s Day, I would not be shocked to see one organization after another pull out of the parade. Somebody went behind the backs of many Irish organizations who for years on end marched in this parade. Let all of us Catholics, Irish and non-Irish alike,  stand up for the St. Patrick’s Day Parade because this great parade stands in deep trouble and may not be held at all if this problem is not solved.
