Faith and Leadership Is ‘Business’ of Westchester Dinner

Cardinal Dolan told the 700 guests at the annual dinner of the Business Council of Westchester that the three essentials of “a good, effective leader are soul, mind and heart.”

Cardinal Dolan, who served as guest speaker, pointed to the three most recent popes—Pope Francis, Pope Benedict XVI and St. Pope John Paul II—as strong role models.

The cardinal thanked the Westchester County leaders for their charitable works and contributions to the local community. “We need to be whole people—the soul, the mind, the heart,’’ he said.

The Business Council of Westchester (BCW) is the county’s largest membership organization for reviewing and assessing how federal, state and county legislation and regulations affect the business community.

Dr. Marsha Gordon, president and chief executive officer of BCW, said the cardinal “blends compassion with commitment to make New York a better place for us all to work and live.”

The Oct. 6 event took place at the Rye Town Hilton.
