With tables set in red, white and blue and staff members dressed in patriotic or military attire, the annual Grandparents’ Day celebration at St. Joseph’s Place, a long-term care nursing facility, reflected its “Honoring the Military” theme.

Stories were swapped and delicious barbecued foods eaten as generations of family members visited residents of the 46-bed facility located at Bon Secours Community Hospital in Port Jervis. More than 170 people enjoyed the occasion’s camaraderie, including musical entertainment, under a tent on the patio outside the hospital.

Words of welcome were delivered by administrator Adele Coates and recreation director Kelly Fedrizzi.
