Italian-American Educators Hold Dinner Dance

The Forum of Italian American Educators (FIAME) is sponsoring its 30th annual awards dinner dance on Friday, April 4. It will be held at Villa Barone Manor, 737 Throggs Neck Expy., Bronx.

Awards celebrating the achievements of Italian-American educators and community leaders will be presented. Among those to be honored, the Thomas Giordano Leadership in Education Award will be presented to Donna Rapaccioli, Fordham University, dean of business faculty and Gabelli School of Business; the Michael Tomasetti Administrator’s Award to Sister Diane Mastroianni, A.S.C.J., principal of Santa Maria School; the Excellence in Teaching Award to Roseann Leone, kindergarten teacher at St. Benedict’s School; and the Andy Galdi Special Needs Educator Award to Maria Molinaro, Title 1 teacher at St. Ann’s School, all in the Bronx.

FIAME offers modest scholarships to Italian-American high school students entering college, as well as sponsoring lectures, Italian language classes and special events. Members are public and parochial school educators who promote and preserve Italian culture for new generations.
