Keep Good Going

To the Editor:

I loved your article on the White Plains knitting group, The Gladhatters (CNY, March 6). Our parish, St. Barnabas in the Bronx, has a similar group of talented women: The Crafty Ladies of Woodlawn. They meet each week and make thousands of knitted and crocheted hats and scarves for the homeless of the St. Francis Breadline, lap robes for retired religious and nursing home residents, baby sweaters and blankets for children’s hospitals and pregnancy care centers.

I am certain if you look closely, there are Gladhatters and Crafty Ladies in every parish in the archdiocese, quietly creating hand-made items to brighten the lives of those less fortunate. Thank you for spotlighting this group and please introduce us to a different group like this in each issue so we can be inspired by the good that people do in our parishes.
