Posted

Dr. Catherine Guerriero was installed as the first woman president in the 167-year history of La Salle Academy in Lower Manhattan at an installation dinner at the original home of the boys’ high school. The Nov. 19 dinner raised $750,000, which will provide scholarships, enrich the curriculum and advance technology. To the left of Dr. Guerriero is William McKeown, class of 1959, installation chairman and school board member. Honored by La Salle and The Brothers of the Christian Schools for their work in education and the young and poor were Brother Thomas Scanlan, F.S.C., former president of Manhattan College; and Brother Dennis Malloy, F.S.C., provincial for the Brothers of Christian Schools, District of Eastern North America. The Brothers of the Christian Schools run LaSalle.
