Our Lady of Lourdes High School senior midfielder Patrick Burke signed a letter of intent Feb. 17 to play Division I soccer for Marist College in Poughkeepsie next fall.
Patrick, a four-year varsity starter and 2-year varsity captain, earned All-League and All-Section honors in 2013 and 2014 at the Poughkeepsie high school. He was named 2013 Lourdes soccer player of the year, and in 2014 he was selected as "Top Five to Watch" by the Poughkeepsie Journal and Hudson Valley Sports Report, and one of MSG Varsity’s "Hudson Valley Boys Soccer 50 Players to Watch.”
“It is obvious that Patrick puts his heart and soul into playing soccer,” said Lourdes Varsity Coach Matt Schlottmann. “I know he will continue to be successful.”
Burke is also a member of the National Honor Society, and Lourdes Ski Club. He said he plans to major in business administration with a concentration in finance at Marist.
