New Education Offices for Enrollment, Scholarships, Tuition Management

Kathy Krall has been appointed as associate superintendent of enrollment and scholarship operations, and Camille Brown as director of tuition management, said Dr. Timothy McNiff, superintendent of schools for the archdiocese.

The new departments are to ensure advances made in student recruitment and retention this year will continue to build upon enrollment and aid local school efforts across the archdiocese.

Their work will build on the comprehensive analysis of Photo Anagnostopoulos, senior adviser to the superintendent of schools for enrollment, earlier this year. Both Ms. Krall and Ms. Brown were part of the initial team working with Ms. Anagnostopoulos to develop the new online admissions and financial assistance and tuition management processes.

The primary responsibilities of the Office of Enrollment and Scholarship Operations will be to promote programs and processes that help attract and retain families in the schools.

The archdiocese, in partnership with Inner-City Scholarship Fund, has raised millions of dollars in scholarship and financial assistance available to families. The office will build and manage a scholarship processing center for administering scholarships and financial assistance to Catholic schools and utilize best practices efficiently and cost effectively to deliver aid to families most in need.

Ms. Krall served on the board of the Curran Principal Academy, which supports leadership training for aspiring Catholic elementary school principals. She has also volunteered for numerous projects for the Inner-City Scholarship Fund.

She was a founding member and owner of a privately held consulting and staffing firm supporting Fortune 100 companies in strategic planning, identifying and executing key management initiatives and staff resourcing. She previously was senior vice president and senior customer management officer at Prudential Financial.

She began her career at Chase Manhattan Bank where she served as vice president of foreign exchange operations, overseeing operations in 36 countries.

Ms. Krall earned a master’s degree in business from Columbia University and a bachelor’s from Rutgers University.

The Office of Tuition Management will provide streamlined processing and increased controls around tuition payment and data management to ensure the integrity of student profiles, tuition and fees. The office will help coordinate family billings, manage payment processes and facilitate delinquent account collections.

The director of the Office of Tuition Management will ensure all operations are closely aligned with the Office of Enrollment and Scholarship Operations and the Global Regional School System Financial Operations Office.

Ms. Brown has provided strategic management services to nonprofit enterprises in the New York metropolitan area for more than 13 years. She served as acting executive director of the Inner-City Scholarship Fund and continued to serve as a strategic adviser within the Catholic Education Advancement Office, most recently as deputy director of the Inner-City Scholarship Fund.

Previously, as director of finance and operations for the New York Catholic Foundation, she facilitated Pathways to Excellence, the strategic plan for schools in the archdiocese. She continues to work closely with the Inner-City Scholarship Fund and its board on strategic initiatives and financial matters.

Before establishing her consulting practice, she was a vice president with Deutsche Bank and served as a senior manager in the consulting arm of KPMG in Washington, D.C.

Ms. Brown is a CPA and a cum laude graduate of Mount St. Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, Md., where she earned a bachelor’s degree.
