The service included clergy from many different faiths who sat on the stage and presented readings during the service. Attending the service were additional clergy representing many different religions, politicians, and lottery winners who entered a contest to be at the service. The line to enter Madison Square Garden for the "Celebration of the Eucharist for the Preservation of Peace and Justice" became a 3-4 hour wait for entrance. The line stretched down to 23rd Street, then west to Eight Avenue, and north past 26th Street. The doors what were supposed to close at 3:30 continued to accept the ticket holders and some did get seated after Pope Francis took to the Altar.
