Staten Island Kicks Off Catholic Schools Week With Mass

Msgr. William Belford, pastor of St. Teresa of the Infant Jesus served as the principal celebrant during a Jan. 25 Mass kicking off Catholic Schools Week there. High school and elementary school students represented their schools in uniform. Concelebrants included Msgr. Peter Finn, pastor of Blessed Sacrament parish and dean of Staten Island, and Father Pancrose Kalist, pastor of Our Lady Queen of Peace, both on Staten Island. Attending were Dr. Timothy McNiff, superintendent of schools for the archdiocese; Zoilita Herrera, Staten Island schools regional superintendent; state Assemblyman Joseph Borelli; and Michael Coppotelli, archdiocesan associate superintendent for public policy and student services. Members of the Catholic Schools Regional Board of Staten Island also participated.
