Temporary Administrators Named at Three Parishes

Temporary administrators have been appointed to parishes in Manhattan, the Bronx and Pelham, the Cardinal’s Office has announced.

Also, a priest has been named as a parochial vicar and a second as a sacramental minister.

Father Eric Cruz has been appointed temporary administrator of St. Luke’s parish in the Bronx, effective Jan. 4, and he will continue as regional coordinator in the Bronx with Catholic Charities. Father William K. Bried, O.F.M., has been named temporary administrator of St. Stephen of Hungary parish in Manhattan, effective Jan. 1. Father Robert DeJulio has been appointed temporary administrator of St. Catharine’s parish in Pelham, effective Dec. 26, while remaining as pastor of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Pelham.

Father Robert Ginel has been appointed parochial vicar at Sacred Heart in Suffern, effective Jan. 4. Father Trevor Nicholls has been appointed sacramental minister at St. Catharine’s in Pelham, effective Dec. 26, and will continue as president of Cardinal Spellman High School in the Bronx.

Father Eric Cruz has served as regional coordinator of Catholic Charities in the Bronx since 2012. He was pastor of Christ the King, the Bronx, 2006-2011, and served as administrator of Our Lady of Victory in the Bronx, 2009-2011. He was parochial vicar at St. Elizabeth’s in Manhattan, 2003-2006. He was ordained in 2003.

Father William K. Bried, O.F.M., has served as parochial vicar at St. Stephen of Hungary since 2011. He served as parochial vicar at Holy Name of Jesus in Manhattan, 2000-2001. He served for 10 years as a hospital chaplain in Florida, and also served at two parishes in New Jersey. Originally a Holy Cross Brother, he transferred to the Franciscans of the Holy Name Province in 1975 and was ordained in 1979.

Father Robert DeJulio served as pastor of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Pelham Manor since 2004. He served as pastor of St. Lawrence O’Toole in Brewster, 1992-2004. He was dean of students and procurator at St. Joseph’s Seminary, Dunwoodie, 1988-1992. He served as treasurer at John. F. Kennedy Catholic High School, 1981-1988, and during that same time worked part time as assistant director of the Permanent Diaconate Program. He was parochial vicar at St. Margaret of Cortona in Riverdale, 1979-1981; temporary administrator at St. Catharine’s, Blauvelt, 1979, and parochial vicar there, 1972-1979. He was ordained in 1972.

Father Robert Ginel served as parochial vicar of Holy Cross, the Bronx, 2008-2014. He served as pastor of St. Peter’s, Monticello, 1995-2007, and was administrator there, 1994-1995. He was parochial vicar at St. Mary and St. Andrew in Ellenville, 1984-1994, and Holy Name of Jesus in Manhattan, 1978-1984. He was ordained in 1978.

Father Trevor Nicholls has served as president of Cardinal Spellman High School in the Bronx since 2005. He served as parochial vicar at St. John the Evangelist in Goshen, 2003-2005, and earlier served in the parish’s hospital and medical care ministry, 1998-2003. He served on the faculty of John A. Coleman Catholic High School in 1990 and as a faculty member at John S. Burke High School, 1990-1998. A former Episcopal priest, he converted to Catholicism and was ordained in 1990.
