To the Editor:
I just read the news that Archbishop Francis Chullikatt will be concluding his term as the Vatican’s Nuncio to the United Nations.
At this time I very much want to publicly express my personal thanks to Archbishop Chullikatt for his support of our work at Fordham University. Like his predecessor, Archbishop Celestino Migliore, I could always count on his assistance. For example, I am very appreciative of his regular participation at our award ceremonies on behalf of our alumni serving around the world, often in difficult situations, with Catholic Relief Services.
I also want to welcome Archbishop Bernadino C. Auza as the next nuncio to the United Nations. We already have fond memories of him at Fordham from several years ago when he spoke to us about the effects of the earthquake in Haiti. We look forward to working with him in the future.
