Blauvelt Dominican Professes Final Vows

Sister Jennifer Schaaf, O.P., professed her final vows as a Sister of St. Dominic of Blauvelt during a liturgy in Holy Rosary Chapel at St. Dominic Convent in Blauvelt Dec. 2.

Sister Jennifer, 38, entered the religious congregation in 2011 and professed first vows in 2014.

Born and raised in the state of Washington, Sister Jennifer is the daughter of Norm and Helen Schaaf of Port Angeles, Wash. She holds a bachelor’s degree in music education and a master’s in pastoral ministry, both from the University of Portland in Oregon. Before entering the Sisters of St. Dominic, she taught music in Portland and later served in campus ministry at Ohio Dominican University in Columbus, Ohio.

She is assistant chaplain at St. Thomas More Catholic Chapel and Center at Yale University in New Haven, Conn. She was a founding member of Dominican Young Adults USA.
