Brother Daniel A. Lauber, C.F.C., a teacher and guidance counselor who served at two high schools in the archdiocese, died July 20 in St. Dominic’s Hospital in Jackson, Miss. He was 60.
He served at All Hallows High School, the Bronx, and Blessed Sacrament-St. Gabriel High School, New Rochelle. He also served in Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Mississippi.
Born in Massena, he entered the Congregation of Christian Brothers in 1972 and made final vows in 1980. He held bachelor’s and master’s degrees in biology from Iona College and a master’s in counseling-psychology from Manhattan College.
His sisters, Nancy Fregoe, Donna Lauber and Debra Levac, survive him. A Funeral Mass was offered July 26 at Holy Family Church in New Rochelle. Burial was in the Christian Brothers Cemetery in West Park.
