Brother Dominic Finneran, O.F.M., who served as a sacristan in parishes and friaries in the archdiocese, died Sept. 16 at Marian Manor, South Boston, Mass. He was 95.
He served at St. Anthony’s Shrine in Boston, from 1971 until his death, eventually becoming senior associate friar there.
In the archdiocese, he served at St. Francis of Assisi parish, Manhattan, 1952-1956, and at Holy Cross Friary, the Bronx, 1939-1943,
Born in Brookline, Mass., he entered the Franciscans of the Holy Name Province in 1937 and professed his final vows in 1942.
A Funeral Mass was offered Sept. 19 at St. Anthony’s Shrine. Burial was at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, West Roxbury, Mass.
