Cardinal Dolan will ordain six men to the priesthood—five for the archdiocese and one for the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal—at a Mass of ordination in St. Patrick’s Cathedral on Saturday, May 24, at 9 a.m.
Five of the ordinands are members of the Class of 2014 at St. Joseph’s Seminary in Dunwoodie. They are: Father Michael Achanyi, Father Matthew C. MacDonald, Father Richard Marrano, Father Robert L. Rodriguez and Father Gabriel Joseph Kyte, C.F.R.
The sixth, Father David Y. Rider Jr., has studied for the priesthood at the Pontifical North American College in Rome, where he will return to complete a licentiate in ecclesial and Church history at Pontifical Lateran University following ordination.
Another 2014 graduate of St. Joseph’s, Father Youssef-Mariam Hanna, C.F.R., will be ordained for the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal at a Mass in Our Lady of Lebanon Cathedral in Brooklyn on Sunday, May 18. Father Youssef-Mariam is a Catholic of the Maronite Rite.
