Deacon Ralph Longo

Deacon Ralph Longo, who served at Annunciation parish in Crestwood for the past 12 years, died June 11 at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla after a long battle with cancer. He was 84.

Deacon Longo served at Annunciation, 2006-2018. He was assigned to Holy Rosary, Greenwood Lake, 1975-2006. His ministries included working with Catholic Charities, the parish choir, the altar servers and religious education.

Born in the Bronx, Deacon Longo was ordained by Cardinal Terence Cooke in 1975.

He earned a bachelor’s degree from Fordham University and was a special education teacher for 37 years.

His son, Patrick, daughter-in-law, Jeanine, and grandchildren, Nicole, Jon and Jeanine, survive him. His wife of 46 years, Jane, and an infant son, Ralph, predeceased him.

A Funeral Mass was offered June 15 at Annunciation Church. Burial followed in St. Stephen Cemetery, Warwick.
