Edward Cardinal Egan Forum Sept. 26 at Sheen Center

Archdiocesan Catholic Charities and the Magnificat Foundation will present the Edward Cardinal Egan Forum Tuesday, Sept. 26 at the Sheen Center for Thought and Culture in lower Manhattan. “The 21st-Century Catholic Charities: Building Partnerships that Foster Justice and Compassion” begins at 6 p.m. in the Loreto Theatre at 18 Bleecker St.

Father J. Bryan Hehir, the Parker Gilbert Montgomery Professor of the Practice of Religion and Public Life at the Harvard Kennedy School, will deliver the keynote. He also serves as secretary for Health Care and Social Services in the Archdiocese of Boston.

Panelists include Ross Douthat, op-ed columnist for The New York Times, and Robert Niehaus, chairman of GCP Capital Partners LLC, who is also chair of the New York Catholic Foundation and past chair of Good Shepherd Services.

The keynote and panelists will speak to the challenges and opportunities facing Catholic Charities in building partnerships to foster a just and compassionate society. Admission is free. An RSVP is required. Information: sheencenter.org
