Father Fergus A. Healey, O.F.M.

Father Fergus A. Healey, O.F.M., who served as parochial vicar of Holy Cross parish in the Bronx, died May 24 at Marion Manor in South Boston, Mass. He was 85.

He was guardian of Holy Cross from 1967 to 1973 and parochial vicar there, 1957-1958. He also served in Boston and in Providence, R. I.

Born in Medford, Mass., he entered the Franciscan Order in 1948 and professed final vows in 1952. He held a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from St. Bonaventure University and a master’s in education from Iona College.

A Funeral Mass was offered May 31 at St. Anthony Shrine in Boston. Burial was at St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury, Mass.
