The seventh annual “Home Run for Catholic Schools” minor league baseball game between the Hudson Valley Renegades and the Staten Island Yankees will be played at Dutchess Stadium in Fishkill Thursday, June 22, at 7:05 p.m.

The evening is a partnership between the Renegades and Hudson Valley Catholic schools. Last year, nearly 1,000 tickets were sold to the game.

Contest winners will perform the National Anthem (Our Lady of Lourdes High School, Poughkeepsie), “God Bless America” (Mairin MacDougall, St. Stephen-St. Edward School, Warwick) and “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” (St. Mary, Mother of the Church, Fishkill).

Essay contest winner Amy Zocchi, a sixth-grader at St. Peter’s School in Poughkeepsie, will toss out the ceremonial first pitch.

Students at St. Denis-St. Columba School in Hopewell Junction are well ahead of the field with 112 tickets sold for this year’s contest. Kids from the winning school will be invited to bring their gloves for a catch on the field before the game. The school also will receive a visit from Rascal, the Renegades’ team mascot.

Tickets may be purchased at gadesgroups.com with use of each school’s unique code. Each school will receive $3 per ticket sold.

A pre-game parade beginning at 6 p.m. will include all students marching behind school banners. Students will also have a chance to run the bases after the game ends.

An Altar Server Night is being held in conjunction with Home Run for Catholic Schools. Servers can participate with their own banner and run the bases after the game.
