The sculpted relief, “St. Mary of Magdala Proclaims the Resurrection,” by the late Sister Margaret Beaudette, S.C., is unveiled, blessed and dedicated by Father Daniel Kearney, pastor of Ascension parish in Manhattan, during the April 22 bilingual Vigil Mass. The work was commissioned for the church by an Ascension parishioner. A Sister of Charity of New York, Sister Margaret was a renowned sculptor whose works grace churches and other Catholic institutions globally. She died March 12 at age 89.
