Manhattan College Names Dean of O’Malley Business School

Dr. Donald E. Gibson was named dean of Manhattan College’s O’Malley School of Business, effective July 1.

He previously served as vice provost for academic affairs and dean of the Dolan School of Business, both at Fairfield University in Connecticut.

Dr. Gibson, who taught organizational behavior at Yale University, received his master’s degree and doctorate from UCLA. He worked in television and film post-production in Los Angeles before becoming a professor.

“We are delighted to have Don join our community to serve as dean of our O’Malley School of Business,” said Dr. Brennan O’Donnell, president of Manhattan College, in a statement. “His vision and experience will help to strengthen our programs and provide our students and faculty with the support and resources they need to succeed.

The O’Malley School of Business was recently renamed earlier this year after an alumnus, Thomas D. O’Malley, class of 1963, provided the largest gift in Manhattan College history—$25 million—to increase student scholarships and grants, support innovative teaching and research, and enhance learning opportunities at the school.
