Mardi Gras at St. Helena’s

Posted

ABC Youth Group of St. Helena parish, the Bronx, hosted an inaugural Mardi Gras Masquerade Ball Feb. 10 in the gymnasium of the parish church on Olmstead Avenue. Among the festive offerings at the Saturday evening pre-lenten event were seasonal New Orleans-style food, dancing to both a DJ and a live band and ample time for socializing. With a ticket purchase, party-goers had a chance to win a raffle prize of either one of two Fire Tablets or an Echo Dot. The pastor is Father David Powers, Sch.P. The 10-person youth ministry team is led by parish’s three seminarians: Brother Ricardo Rivera, Sch.P.; Brother Jorge Ramirez, Sch.P.; and Brother Orlando Rodriguez, Sch.P.
