A Vatican authorized tribunal, after a canonical trial into an allegation that Msgr. William Williams sexually abused one minor, ruled Msgr. Williams is not guilty of the charge, said Msgr. Joseph P. LaMorte, vicar general and chancellor, in an email to priests of the archdiocese last month.

Msgr. Williams served as pastor of St. John the Evangelist, Saugerties, and St. Joseph, Kingston, and also was vicar of Ulster County, before his retirement in 2011.
