NEW LEADERSHIP FOR DOMINICAN SISTERS OF BLAUVELT

Four members of the Dominic Sisters of Blauvelt, Sister Ellenrita Purcaro, O.P., councilor; Sister Michaela Connolly, O.P., prioress; Sister Mary Ann Collins, O.P., councilor; and Sister Mary Flood, O.P., councilor, will be installed June 25 as they begin six-year terms on the congregation’s leadership team. They were elected during a chapter at St. Dominic’s Convent April 8. Sister Michaela has served as vice president of the leadership team since 2011 and earlier served with the Dominican Sisters Family Health Service, now ArchCare at Home, as well as a number of schools in the archdiocese. Sister Mary Ann is the chaplain at Bedford Hills Correctional Facility. Sister Mary is a physician and associate professor of medicine at New York Presbyterian Hospital of Columbia and Cornell. Sister Ellenrita is the director of the Empowerment Center at Harmony Farm in Goshen.
