To the Editor:
Have you been noticing the handwriting on any correspondence you may have received recently? Whether it is a letter (yes, although rare, there are still some people who take pen to paper) or simple note, it is generally a struggle to decipher the content.
In any event, I recently received a short business note at work and I was almost floored by the impeccable penmanship. I quickly commented, “You must have been taught by nuns!” The writer looked astonished and said, “Yes, how did you know?”
Thank you, Sister John-Michael and Sister Mary Joel. We miss you; and, please know that, more than 50 years ago, I understood your dedication and forgave you for the writing exercises and occasional red knuckles I deservedly endured.
