Paris in Their Prayers

A concert benefiting the rebuilding and restoration of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris was held April 26 at St. Patrick’s Cathedral featuring French musician Daniel Brondel, the cathedral’s associate director of music and organist. Although there was no charge for the concert, attendees were given the opportunity to make freewill donations for Notre Dame Cathedral, which was severely damaged in a fire April 15, through the “From St. Patrick’s to Notre Dame” fund. The evening solidarity concert at St. Patrick’s, “All Together with Notre Dame de Paris,” was one in a series of four concerts at four American cathedrals and which featured a French organist. The concerts, which celebrated the spiritual and cultural significance of the world-renowned Paris cathedral, were organized by the Cultural Services of the French Embassy in the United States with the consulates in New York, and St. Patrick’s Cathedral, in partnership with the Friends of Notre-Dame de Paris. Other concerts were performed in Washington, D.C., April 26; San Francisco, April 29; and New Orleans, May 5.
