POLISH STRIDE—The 80th annual Pulaski Day Parade processes along Fifth Avenue in Manhattan from 39th Street to 56th Street Oct. 1. The grand marshal was attorney Slawomir Platta. Among the honorary grand marshals was Archbishop Wojciech Polak of Gniezno, Poland. A Mass at St. Patrick’s Cathedral preceded the parade. Since 1937, the Polish-American community of New York has honored General Casimir Pulaski, a Polish aristocrat and American Revolutionary War hero, throughout October.
