I want to thank Deacon Jim Stahlnecker for presenting to the American electorate “A Prayer at Election Time” (CNY, Sept. 29). This prayer card is non-partisan and simply asks the American voter to discern the issues facing our nation and to walk humbly with our God in casting their vote on Nov 8. As the prayer card states, we should consider “leaders with the fortitude to face their opponents with grace...and leaders whose reverential fear informs their moral judgment.”
May the prayers we offer at this time help us to select leaders who will protect the most vulnerable members of our society, like the unborn, the disabled, the homeless, our infirm elderly and those of God’s people most in need.
