Churchgoers light candles and pray as participants in “Nightfever” inside St. Patrick’s Cathedral Nov. 18. Volunteers from the cathedral’s Young Adult Ministry and other Catholic groups, as well as representatives from religious orders, were among those who began the early evening convening outside the cathedral along a rain-drenched Fifth Avenue, inviting passersby to come inside to light a candle for an intention, enjoy spiritual music and spend time in prayer. The two-hour Saturday gathering included Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and an opportunity to receive the sacrament of reconciliation.
