Sister Bridget Esposito, A.S.C.J.

Sister Bridget Esposito, A.S.C.J., who taught in the archdiocese, died July 31 at Sacred Heart Manor in Hamden, Conn. She was 96.

She taught at Our Lady of Pompeii, Greenwich Village, 1943-1949; Santa Maria, the Bronx, 1951-1954; and St. Joseph, Manhattan, 1958-1961. She taught in Illinois, Missouri and Pennsylvania.

Born in New Haven, Conn., she entered the Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in 1938. She professed perpetual vows in 1946.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in English from Fordham University and a certificate in Montessori education from the St. Nicholas Training Centre in London, England.

Her sister, Mary Ann, and brother, Anthony, survive her.

A Funeral Mass was offered August 4 at Sacred Heart Manor Chapel. Burial was at All Saints Cemetery, North Haven, Conn.
