Sister M. Bernardus Dwyer, I.H.M.

Sister M. Bernardus Dwyer, I.H.M., principal of St. Stephen School in Manhattan for three years, died Jan. 27 at Our Lady of Peace Residence in Scranton, Pa. She was 93.

Sister Bernardus was at St. Stephen, 1971-1974. She taught at St. Ann School, Nyack, 1957-1960. She also served in Brooklyn, Binghamton, Syracuse, Vestal, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Connecticut and Idaho.

Born in Utica, she entered the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in 1945 and professed final vows in 1950.

Her sisters, Phyllis Roehm, Sally Paniccia and Patricia Dwyer, survive her.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated Jan. 31 at Our Lady of Peace Residence. Burial was at Calvary Cemetery in Johnson City.
