Sister Marianne Robertson, S.C.

Sister Marianne Robertson, S.C., a former chairwoman of St. Vincent Hospital School of Nursing in Manhattan, died Aug. 2 at Cabrini of Westchester in Dobbs Ferry. She was 86.

She served at St. Vincent Hospital School of Nursing as chair/instructor, 1958-1966, and instructor, 1957-1958. She was at St. Joseph Hospital School of Practical Nursing, Yonkers, as director, 1968-1970, and assistant director, 1966-1968.

She was at St. Vincent Hospital, serving in the lab, 2010-2011; staff coordinator, 1991-2009; assistant director, nursing service, 1970-1991; and staff nurse in psychiatry, 1956-1957.

Born in Yonkers, Sister Marianne entered the Sisters of Charity of New York in 1954 and professed final vows in 1961.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the College of Mount St. Vincent and a master’s in medical/surgical nursing from New York University.

A Funeral Mass was offered Aug. 6 in Mount St. Vincent Convent, the Bronx. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery, Yonkers.
