Sister Patricia Ryan, S.S.N.D., an educator who taught at St. Joseph’s elementary school in New York City, died July 28 at Lourdes Health Care Center in Wilton, Conn. She was 90.
She taught at St. Joseph’s school from 1949 to 1954. She also served at schools as a teacher or administrator in Fort Lee, N.J., Maryland and Florida.
She entered the School Sisters of Notre Dame in 1946 and professed final vows in 1954. She held a bachelor’s degree in education from Fordham University and a master’s degree in English from Boston College.
A sister, Louise Lynch, survives her.
A Funeral Mass was offered July 31 in the Chapel at Villa Notre Dame in Wilton, Conn. Burial was at St. Mary Cemetery in Bethel, Conn.
