Sister Ruth Ann Seguin, R.S.M., formerly Sister Mary Pierre, died May 18 at McAuley Hall in Watchung, N.J. She was 86.
She served as a literacy volunteer in Saranac Lake and Plattsburgh, 1995-2010. She served in the health care field in Watertown.
Born in Plattsburgh, she entered the Sisters of Mercy of New York in 1947 and professed final vows in 1953.
She held a bachelor’s degree from Mercy College and a master’s from Xavier University.
She is survived by a brother, Raymond, and a sister, Betty Main.
A Funeral Mass was offered May 22 at Marian Woods Chapel in Hartsdale, with burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne.
