Sister Theresa Lardner, O.P., who taught in the Bronx and elsewhere in the archdiocese and served in pastoral ministry, died May 20 in St. Martin de Porres Infirmary, Blauvelt. She was 75.

She served as regional coordinator, Office of Christian Family Development, Staten Island, 1969-1975. She was religious education coordinator at St. Joseph’s, Millbrook, 1975-1978, and pastoral minister at Holy Trinity, West Point, 1978-1988, and Our Lady of Loretto, Cold Spring, 1989-1993.

She was a teacher at St. Anselm’s School, the Bronx, 1958-1960; St. Joseph’s, Millbrook, 1960-1966; Our Lady of the Assumption, the Bronx, 1966-1968; and St. Nicholas of Tolentine, the Bronx, 1968-1969.

Sister Theresa served her religious community, the Dominican Sisters of Blauvelt, as a councilor, 1993-1998, and director of new membership and vocation, 2002-2005. From 2003 to 2007, she was formation director for the sisters and secretary at St. John’s School, Goshen, 2003-2007. She was spiritual care coordinator of United Hospice of Rockland, 2009-2012.

She was co-director of a Dominican novitiate in Manchester, Mo., 1999-2002, and a liturgist at a parish in Tenafly, N.J., 2007-2008.

Born in the Bronx, she entered the Dominican Sisters of Blauvelt in 1955 and professed final vows in 1963.

Formerly known as Sister Mary Brian, she earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Dominican College and a master’s in catechetical theology from Manhattan College.

She is survived by her sisters Nancy Hynes, Rita Sullivan and Sister Patricia Lardner, O.P. A Funeral Mass was offered May 23 in the chapel at St. Dominic’s Convent. Burial was at St. Dominic’s Cemetery, Blauvelt.
