Posted

The Leadership Team of the Ursuline Sisters of the Eastern Province sadly acknowledge that an allegation of sexual misconduct was brought against Sister Ann Peterson, O.S.U., by a former student at St. Joseph’s parish school in Middletown. The alleged incident is said to have occurred approximately 50 years ago when Sister Ann was a teacher at the school. Sister Ann was assigned to St. Joseph’s School from 1964 to 1967. Sister Ann denies the allegation. There have been no prior allegations concerning Sister Ann in her 59 years as a member of the Ursuline community.

The Ursuline Sisters and Sister Ann are cooperating fully with the appropriate authorities. While the investigation is under way, Sister Ann has stepped down from all ministry. The Ursuline Sisters offer prayers for the woman who brought forth the allegation, and for Sister Ann.
