ArchCare and the New York region of Huntington’s Disease Society of America are teaming up again for the second annual Team Hope Walk–Hudson Valley at the Walkway Over the Hudson Saturday, Nov. 4.

The 2.56-mile walk from Poughkeepsie to Highland on the Walkway begins at 9 a.m. Registration is at 8 a.m.

Last year’s walk attracted 130 participants and raised more than $27,000 for Huntington’s Disease Society of America. Team Hope Walk is the society’s largest national grassroots fund-raising event, taking place in more than 100 cities and raising more than $7 million since 2007.

“Raising awareness and funds for Huntington’s disease brings hope to people with HD and their families. By coming together, we not only improve the lives of people living with HD, but also build awareness and advocacy and enrich our local communities,’’ said Michael Deyo, executive director of ArchCare at Ferncliff in Rhinebeck.

ArchCare is the health care system of the archdiocese.
