The Archdiocese of New York continues its 2016 “Touring Tuesday” open house events at 140 elementary schools on April 12 from 9 to 11 a.m.
Parents may also schedule an appointment at their convenience.
Touring Tuesday universal open house events are designed to introduce prospective families to the life-long benefits and value of a Catholic education.
Since its inception in 2013, Touring Tuesdays have been attended by more than 2,100 families and have resulted in more than 7,100 new student enrollments across the archdiocese from pre-kindergarten through the eighth grade.
Touring Tuesdays provide a platform to see Catholic schools in action and offer families the opportunity to learn about the admissions process and meet with principals, faculty, other parents and elementary school students.
“Touring Tuesdays provide an unprecedented opportunity for prospective parents and students to experience the benefits a faith-based education provides for the whole child,” said Dr. Timothy J. McNiff, superintendent of schools for the archdiocese.
More than 98 percent of the archdiocese’s high school seniors graduate and 98 percent of those graduates go on to college or post-secondary education, “making a Catholic education one of best investments a parent can make in their children’s future,” he added.
Reservations for Touring Tuesdays are required and may be made online at CatholicSchoolsNY.org or by calling the bilingual phone line (646) 794-2885. School tours may also be arranged by appointment.
