What Would We Do?

Posted

After all the beautiful services of Holy Week, leading up to the glorious celebration of Easter Sunday Mass, the following thought entered my mind: What would we ever do without Jesus? Although it can be an unsettling thought, it was an affirmation of the truth and beauty of our Catholic faith.

The Catholic Church is rich in truth, in tradition and in beauty, but most of all it is rich in love, because God, Who is Love, is with us. The one, holy, Catholic and apostolic church is a gift from God to the world.

I am one of many blessed parishioners of Holy Child on Staten Island, and I am grateful for our priests and all they do for our parishioners, most especially for the singular privilege priests have been given to bring us Jesus, the Holy Eucharist.

Most of all, I am eternally grateful for Jesus, the great high priest, who makes all things possible.

What would we ever do without Jesus?
