‘Pope Radio’ on Sirius XM

SiriusXM satellite radio has launched a special channel, “Pope Radio,” dedicated to Pope Francis’ first visit to the United States this week.
“Pope Radio,” a special production of The Catholic Channel, is an exclusive collaboration between SiriusXM and the Archdiocese of New York. The channel, launched Sept. 21, airs 24 hours a day until the Holy Father’s departure from Philadelphia. It will be available to SiriusXM subscribers on channel 129, the regular home of The Catholic Channel; on the SiriusXM app; and at SiriusXM.com.
Pope Francis will visit Washington, D.C. (Sept. 22-24), then New York (Sept. 24-26) and Philadelphia (Sept. 26-27).
Pope Radio will cover each step of the Holy Father’s journey and give listeners nationwide a unique perspective on the religious, social and political impressions felt in the United States and abroad. Coverage includes live broadcasts of each major event during the pope’s visit including his address to a joint session of Congress, a first for a pope, his visits to the World Meeting of Families and the National 9/11 Memorial and Museum, and the papal Masses.
A host of commentators—in the studio and on site at every venue—will broadcast throughout the day to provide listeners with current reports and analysis of Pope Francis’ travels. Hosts include Cardinal Timothy Dolan; Father Dave Dwyer, C.S.P.; “The Catholic Guy” Lino Rulli; Jennifer Fulwiler; Gus Lloyd; Father Gabriel Gillen; SiriusXM political host Tim Farley; and special White House correspondent Jared Rizzi.


EWTN Live Streaming Entire Visit

Link to EWTN’s website, www.ewtn.com/america, for live streaming of the entire papal visit. From the pope’s arrival in Havana Sept. 19 through his departure from Philadelphia Sept. 27, the network will cover and explain—in English, Spanish, German, Portuguese, and Italian—everything the pope says.
The papal visit will be covered on EWTN television, EWTN radio and via the network’s social media sites and news services. Viewers can also connect with the EWTN app, www.ewtnapps.com.
EWTN news director Raymond Arroyo will host live coverage from New York, Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia. The “EWTN News Nightly” (ENN) team, led by anchor Brian Patrick, will be on the ground providing news and reports during the pope’s visit to all three U.S. cities.
EWTN president and chief operating officer Doug Keck and “Women of Grace” host Johnnette Benkovic will lead coverage of the World Meeting of Families in Philadelphia, which airs Sept. 22-25, before the pope’s arrival in that city.

TWC News to Debut Papal Visit Channel

TWC News launched its special Papal Visit Channel, on channel 199, for Time Warner Cable television customers Sept. 20. The Papal Visit Channel is offering comprehensive coverage of Pope Francis’ events throughout his historic visit to Cuba and the United States. The channel will feature wall-to-wall coverage of the pope’s visit, including all his public appearances, Masses and speeches shown live in their entirety until his departure Sept. 27.
The Papal Visit Channel will also showcase special episodes of The Call, TWC News NY1’s live call-in show that allows viewers to discuss key issues of the day. The Call will air 9-10 p.m. EDT Monday through Friday and focus on the pope. The channel will also provide viewers with Papal Visit 2015, an in-depth nightly review program airing 10-11 p.m.
On TWCNews.com and via the TWC News app, a special “Papal Visit 2015” section will feature a live stream of the Papal Visit Channel content, including access to the latest papal headlines, information on papal events and re-airing of papal events in their entirety.

‘Francisco en America’ on Telemundo


Telemundo, the Spanish-language television network, will host “Francisco en América,” its coverage of Pope Francis’ historic visit to Cuba and the United States. It will feature papal coverage by a team of 10 correspondents who will document the pope’s travels from the Vatican to Havana, Holguín and Santiago de Cuba as well as Washington, D.C., New York and Philadelphia.
“Noticiero Telemundo” anchors María Celeste Arrarás and José Díaz-Balart and “Un Nuevo Día” co-anchor Ana María Canseco will lead the coverage, accompanied by a team of experts and correspondents on location at each of the pope’s destinations. Mexican singer and actress Lucero will also participate as the face of #ActosdeBondad, a campaign showcasing good works that will parallel the pope’s visit on Telemundo and the network’s digital platforms.


NET-TV Will Cast Wide

NET-TV, part of DeSales Media of the Diocese of Brooklyn, will be on the air from the moment the pope touches down in Cuba Sept. 19 until he departs from Philadelphia Sept. 27.
The coverage includes taped interviews with Cardinal Dolan and Cardinal Donald Wuerl of Washington, D.C., which will be packaged throughout the event coverage. Special guests will also be in the studio with anchor Liz Faublas.
Live reports will be presented from the different cities the pope is visiting. NET-TV also reached an agreement with Relevant Radio to transmit NET’s live TV coverage on the radio. Relevant’s executive director Father Rocky Hoffman will make appearances on NET-TV during the trip.
