Brother Alexander Eugenio “Buddy” DeLorenzo, C.F.C., who served as superior of the Blessed Sacrament-St. Gabriel High School Community in New Rochelle for seven years, died Sept. 11. He was 76.
Brother DeLorenzo was superior, 1997-2004. He was director of archives for the Christian Brothers, 1988-2021, and taught at All Hallows High School, the Bronx, 1967-1973. He also served in Schenectady and Rochester.
Born in Nutley, N.J., Brother DeLorenzo entered the Congregation of Christian Brothers in 1963 and professed final vows in 1970. He earned a bachelor’s degree in history from Iona College, New Rochelle; and a master’s in religious studies from Manhattan College, the Bronx.
His brothers, Richard and Dennis, and his sister, Joan Bivona, survive him.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated Sept. 16 in Holy Family Church, New Rochelle. Burial was in Christian Brothers Cemetery, New Rochelle.
