Father Edward F. Moore, M.M., who served in Guatemala for 30 years, died March 17 in the Assisted Living Unit at Maryknoll in Ossining. He was 90.
Father Moore was in Guatemala, 1988-1995 and 1958-1981, where he was a pastor and assistant regional superior of the Central American Region. He also was director of the spiritual renewal program for Maryknoll priests and brothers, 1984-1988, and served at Maryknoll and in Texas, California and Costa Rica.
Born in Utica, he entered Maryknoll in 1949 and made his final vows in 1957. He was ordained to the priesthood in 1958.
He received a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Maryknoll College, Glen Ellyn, Ill., and a master’s in religious education from Maryknoll Seminary.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated March 25 in Queen of Apostles Chapel at Maryknoll. Burial was in Maryknoll Society Cemetery.
