Father Jeremiah J. Reen, S.D.B., a teacher for nine years at Salesian Junior Seminary in Goshen, died July 10 at Seasons Hospice in Largo, Fla. He was 80.
Father Reem taught Greek, social studies, theology and Spanish at Salesian Junior Seminary, 1975-1982 and 1965-1967.
He also served in New Jersey, Massachusetts and Florida.
Born in Boston, he entered the Salesians of Don Bosco in 1958. He professed final vows in 1965 and was ordained to the priesthood in 1971.
He earned a master’s degree in religious education from Pontifical College Josephinum, Columbus, Ohio.
His brother, James, survives him.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated July 14 in Mary Help of Christian Church, Tampa. Another Mass was offered July 16 in Marian Shrine Chapel, Stony Point. Burial was July 17 in Salesian Cemetery, Goshen.
