Health care and other essential workers marched in New York City’s Hometown Heroes ticker-tape parade in lower Manhattan, which hailed them for their efforts during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The July 7 parade started in Battery Park and continued through the Canyon of Heroes on Broadway before ending at City Hall.
The ticker-tape parade was New York City’s first since the U.S. women’s soccer team earned the distinction in 2019 and 2015 for winning the World Cup.
