Men’s Conference, Feminine Genius Brunch Set Next Month

Archdiocesan offices are offering a daylong Men’s Conference and the Feminine Genius Brunch on Saturdays in November.

The Men’s Conference, sponsored by the archdiocesan Office of Adult Faith Formation, has the theme “Men of Character in Today’s World.” The day, which will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 2, will be held at SUNY Purchase Performing Arts Center.

The welcome and opening prayer will begin at 11 a.m. Scheduled speakers are Cardinal Dolan; Joe Sweeney, New York Times best-selling author, international speaker and business consultant; and Ryan Holladay, the pastor of Lower Manhattan Community Church.

A closing Mass will be offered at 4 p.m.

Tickets: $30 in advance (by Oct. 28), or $40 at the door. Admission includes a boxed lunch and afternoon refreshments.

There will be an opportunity for confession during the 90-minute lunch break.

The Feminine Genius Brunch, sponsored by the archdiocesan Respect Life Office, will begin at 10 a.m. Nov. 16 at the Hilton Westchester in Rye Brook. The theme is “Come Discover God’s Plan for Your Ultimate Flourishing!”

Sister Virginia Joy, S.V., director of the Respect Life Office, will speak about the beauty of the feminine heart and the distinct, God-given attributes of women that make up “feminine genius”—receptivity, sensitivity, generosity and maternity.

The event is open to all women. Cost: $30, with reservations required by Nov. 11.
